The outer twigs with its hundreds of hammered leaves are created with 26 gauge brass wire. The combination of the two types of wire gives the sculpture a lifelike and very full appearance. In contrast to the multi colors of the tree, the sculpture is planted into a simple 8″ round grass covered base. The grass is created by using several types of sand which is painted.

The copper wire tree above is made of 20 and 26 gauge solid copper wire. The inside of the sculpture is made of the heavier wire for strength. The outer layers are created using the thinner wire to give it a finer texture. The ends of every branch are hammered flat to create the leaves. This wire art piece has already begun to patina producing the soft green color of copper.
The base of this metal tree display is a very heavy 8 inch x1.5 inch solid clear glass container. Wire ornament tree is mounted into the base and mixed with sea sand and small pebbles that are painted yellow, green and white to look like moss. Height is 19 inches by 18 inches and 18 inches deep.
