Are you ready to grow your own bonsai, starter bonsai trees are what you need

Chinese elm or a small juniper that is at least 4 inches tall are two of the best starter bonsai trees to give as a gift or to start your own collection. They will grow in all conditions with a minimum amount of care.

These are not prebonsai trees, but small ornamental trees that are started for you in the shape of a bonsai and already a few years old. If this is your first tree I would recommend a juniper bonsai and grow it on your patio.

Junipers are the number one choice for starting your own collection and as a starter tree without having to buy trimming tools right away. This tree type gets its unique shape by using training wire to bend the trunk. Needles and branches are simply trimmed by pinching off with your finger. The most familiar shape is the karate kid tree.
