There are a few different species of bonsai trees, but all can be broken
down in two groups indoor bonsai and outdoor bonsai. Some smaller trees and
bonsai plants are more popular to grow than others.

There are two different types of bonsai trees or plants formal and
informal.
A formal upright bonsai is just as the name suggests, and is
recognized by its tapering trunk and balanced branches. An informal look
is one that bends and curves slightly and is probably the style that we
see most inside homes.
Choosing a Pre Bonsai
It is kind of exciting and very rewarding to prune a tree into the
desired form you want and it does take time. The bonsai you get when it
is pruned and trimmed to the shape you envision is truly your own. All I
can say is its a good idea to look at many pictures of bonsai trees and
then adapt yours to make it unique and make it into the desired shape.

One of the most unique looking small trees are japanese black pine
bonsai tree. It should not be grown indoors. It is an excellent tree for
a patio and rated 5 out of 5 stars for its looks.
This
black pine has dark green needles 3 to 5 inches long and occur in pairs.
Large, grayish-white terminal buds help distinguish it from other pines.
Much sought after in bonsai and takes many years to achieve the look of
a superior specimen tree. It is well worth the effort in training and
car.
