Bonsai plants, easier to grow than common house plants
Everyone likes to use house plants to add a bit of
color or to keep things looking fresh. Bonsai plants look fantastic when
used as a decoration when matched with your other home decor
accessories. Small indoor bonsai plants and trees are ideal accessories
to use as table centerpieces.
These small house plants are much nicer to look at and are just as easy
to grow as any indoor plant. Many indoor varieties can be grown
outdoors in warmer climates but the majority are grown indoors. You can
choose tropical plants, evergreen and flowering plants or trees.

The first plant shown above is a bromelide and native to Central
America and is among the most fascinating of all tropical plants.
It does not require soil to grow, but does require frequent watering in
the pot the plant gets it through humidity. Provide bright or subdued
indirect sunlight, humidity, warmth, and weekly watering. The plant's
bloom has striking purple flowers. Favorite Plants for Decorating
I always like to have a reason to buy another house plant. So I combine
my two favorite activities, decorating and growing bonsai.
When buying house plants for decorating keep one thing in mind, size
does matter. If your bonsai plant is a coffee table centerpiece then
keep it between be 6 and 9 inches. We have a few ideas on
mini bonsai
trees here. Bonsai plants can be taller for the center of dining
tables. If the room you are decorating gets no direct sunlight or
very little sunshine through the windows then its best to choose
low light house plants. An alternative to use would be
artificial bonsai.
Color wise it really comes down to your own personal preference.
Flowering plants and or evergreen, both will add color to a room.
Because bonsai plants already come with their own pots you would
only need to buy a humidity drip tray to go with it, its absolutely
necessary but highly recommended. When you buy bonsai plants or indoor bonsai I recommend that
you pay close attention to the trunk line of that particular plant you
want to purchase. Foliage and shape of the branches are important, so as
a beginner
choose something that does require special tools for pruning.

Cascade and semi-cascade bonsai plants are modeled after trees that
grow over water or on the sides of mountains. Semi-cascade do not lean
as far downward as the cascade style.
Raft style bonsai are those that are planted on their side and can
include many other styles such as sinuous, straight-line, and group
planting styles. These all give the illusion of a group of trees, but
are actually the branches planted on its side. The bonsai pots that you grow your bonsai plant in does create
part of the effect of how the plant looks.
For the beginner, bonsai plants are ideal because
they are easy to grow and care for indoors. Many people use these as
trees for home decor when decorating a room.
The most common
species of bonsai are hawaiian umbrella tree, ficus
bonsai,
and
azalea bonsai. These are popular small house plants that fit nicely on
countertops or near windows.
Some need sunlight but not direct light and a steady temp. The
bonsai plants shown above do not need much light they are classified
as house
plants low light, so they can be
grown in bedrooms or on your office desk.
